Kitchen Worktops Heat Resistance

Kitchen Worktops Heat Resistance

Kitchen Worktops Heat Resistance – It is true that kitchen worktops are heat resistant, but it is important to understand that they do have their limits.

Kitchen Worktops Heat Resistance – Quartz

Quartz worktops are heat resistant but are not heat proof. They can withstand heat up to 150 degrees.

Quartz worktops have a quartz content between 90% and 93%. The rest of the worktop is made up with resin and pigments that are mixed up with the natural quartz.

At Washington Worktops Ltd we always recommend using heat proof mats and pan stands to avoid damaging you worktops.ย

Granite Worktops

Granite is heat resistant and can withstand a lot higher temperatures than quartz can. This is why granite is used a lot for fire places and Hearths for log burners to stand on.

Additionally, as granite is a natural material it can be used outdoors for BBQ areas and outside bars as it is able to endure the elements.ย

Overall , granite is a naturally heat resistant material that can withstand the heat of pots and pans when placed directly on its surface. However, we do always recommend using heat proof mats and pan stands.ย

Porcelain – Sintered Stone

Porcelain – Sintered stone is extremely heat resistant and is unlikely to be affected by any form of heat in the kitchen. This material is incombustible. Furthermore, it is able to resist high temperatures up to 1200 degrees.ย
